Greg Hardy Looks to Catch His Breath on Short Notice Against Volkov

The biggest story coming out of last weekend's UFC Boston card wasn't the barn burner rematch of Yair/Stephens, or Maycee Barber knocking the pink out of some girls hair, or even Season 5 Alum Joe Lauzon starching a newcomer in front of the Boston crowd. Nope. The big news was Greg Hard and Inhaler gate.

Greg Hardy, not really known for following rules and regulations (see his NFL Career) stupidly used an inhaler between rounds of a fight he was easily winning and the bout ended up being ruled a No-Contest.

WELL. Looks like he won't have to wait too long to get another W on the books. Hardy has agreed to step-up on short notice November 9th in Moscow, Russia for JDS who seems to have some sort of ringworm or something gross like that. (Get well soon Junior). Anyways this bout will be moved to the Co-Main slot as Kattar/Zabit will now headline as a 3-rounder.

The common theme in the MMA circle was the UFC was protecting Hardy as he still gets his feet wet (very true he was taking on guys who wouldn't make it in GoldenBoy MMA) but that will not be the case in this one. He takes on that "Russian Mothfucka" (shout-out Derrick Lewis) Alexander Volkov (30-7) the #7 guy in the UFC Heavyweight rankings. This is Volkov's first fight since the aforementioned Lewis bout where the Black Beast was able to carry-out Donald Trump's orders and deliver a KO with 10 secs remaining. What would follow is probably the greatest Post-Fight interview in UFC history.

This should be an ugly one for Greg Hardy, much to the delight of everyone in the MMA community outside of the Kawa brothers and American Top Team due to his Domestic violence case. Hardy looked very sloppy, awkward, and slow against Ben Sosoli, a guy who lost in the 1st round of TUF 28. Volkov was dominating the Lewis fight with technical striking from distance and if not for a dumb decision would have won that fight easily.

PREDICTION: 1st Round TKO Volkov
