We are back! The UFC returns this Saturday, May 30th, from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The card was scheduled for last Saturday but thanks to an approval for return to action by the Nevada Athletic Commission, the fight was moved from Jacksonville (where the last 3 Covid fights have taken place) to the Apex where The Ultimate Fighter/Contender Series takes place.

(via CBSSports) Men's Welterweight/Main Event (170) #1:Tyron "The Chosen One"Woodley, (19-4-1 MMA) (Favorite) #6: Gilbert "Durinho" Burns (18-3 MMA)(Underdog)

Former UFC WW Champ Woodley (38), takes on rising veteran “Durinho” Burns, currently riding a 5-fight win streak.

This quite possibly is Woodley’s last shot to get back into the title picture given his relationship with the UFC/fans and the stacked 170 lb division. Couple that with the fact he put on a worse performance in his Title bout than he did his last rap album, people are “falling in and out of love” with the idea of him facing off with Usman again.

Burns on the other hand is riding an impressive 5-fight win streak after moving back to the 170 division after a brief stint down at 155. This will by far be his toughest test but if he can get through this he will be right in the mix.

Prediction (Woodley TKO)

This should be relatively one-sided in Woodley’s favor. Burns is elite when it comes to jiu jitsu but is on the smaller side in the 70 weight class. Woodley is a former All-American wrestler who should be able to keep the fight on the feet if he is on. He has also been getting trashed for his last performance and his outside the octagon ventures (again his rap album was a pile of trash) which seems to be when he performs the best. I see Burns getting worn down and taking a big shot in the middle rounds.
