The best Thanksgiving surprise in the history of Thanksgiving.

I'll be the first to admit I hated this fight. Hated it. This does nothing for Conor at 155. You have Gaethje sitting there at #4 in the division and Cowboy just lost to Gaethje in his last fight. That was until I remembered McGregor's last press conference...
Alright, so maybe there is more to this fight then. AND BAM. Right in my stupid face. This fight is at 170. Right on schedule. Exactly as he predicted. Mystic Mac is back bitches.
A win in this fight at 170 sets up the Mavidal fight perfectly (Masvidal is at 170) and then will give him two very quality wins in route to the Khabib rematch at 155 (assuming he bets Tony which is a huge IF). Cowboy is no walk in the park but I think a great match-up for Conor.
So let's take a look at this fight and how it transpired.
First, we have the seed. All the way back to 2015 at the UFC Go Big Presser where Conor seemingly wanted all the smoke. (And introduced red panty night). Cowboy seemed to take issue with Conor's trash talk and the two had some words.
We then were teased with a potential 4th of July fight but there was a huge falling out between Conor and the UFC as Dana refused to Main Event the fight. Just as it seemed that this fight would never materialize, we were able to finally get these two in there for what should be a stand and trade fight for as long as it lasts.
Overview
Cerrone: Most UFC wins (23), most finishes (16), most post-fight bonuses (18), most knockdowns (20), and most headkick KO's (7).
McGregor: 1st Ever Double Champ in UFC History, Fastest KO in UFC Title History (13 seconds), 7th in knockdowns (12), 18 of 21 Wins via KO/TKO

Stylistically both have an advantage in this fight. Cowboy has very strong jiu-jitsu, particularly his Triangle Choke. If this fight goes to the ground Cerrone should have the advantage. On the other end, Conor's style has given Cowboy real problems his entire career. The Southpaw pressure boxer with speed. (Masvidal, Nate Diaz, Till)
Prediction/Bet

Cmon. Did you think I was going any other way? I love Cowboy, and how could you not? The dude is a true BMF and puts on a show for the fans everytime out. But, this is a bad match-up for him, if they're going to exchange in boxing range this will be a short night for Donald. He was picked apart against Tony and brutally put down by Justin Gaethje in his last one. Conor needs to stay out of kicking range, probably stuff a take down or two, and I see him being able to get out pretty unscathed.
It'll be over in 1. McGregor 1st round KO.
