It's that time again, when you lose your ass on College Football Conference Championship Saturday. Don't worry I'm here to bail you out with UFC on ESPN 7 taking place in the Nation's capital. Enjoy and you're welcome for changing your bum life.

PRELIMS

Bryce Mitchell (11-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) Matt Sayles (8-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC)

(Featherweight, 145)

(Mitchell -110, Sayles -120)

When he is not drilling his sack, Bryce "Thug Nasty" is choking fools out. He comes into this one 8-0 (although he technically lost on TUF to season winner Katona). As you can see by the line this is a very even match-up and really could go either way. I like the well-rounded game of Bryce slightly better in this one.

Mitchell by Decision.

Tim Means (28-11-1 MMA, 12-8 UFC) Thiago Alves (23-14 MMA, 15-11 UFC) (Welterweight, 170)

(Means -265, Alves +205)

Battle of the aging UFC veterans. Both guys seem to be headed in the wrong direction and on the tail end. Thiago is a proven vet but has slowed considerably in his last few fights. I like the reach and speed by Means but Thiago can make it interesting on the ground.

Means by Decision.

MAIN CARD

Rob Font (16-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC), Ricky Simon (15-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC)

(Bantamweight, 135)

(Font -155, Simon +125)

This is an awesome fight to kick-off the main card. Ricky Simon is a fast rising star who looked to be on the fast track to the top until a TKO loss to the California Kid (old man) Urijah Faber set him back. I really like Font's boxing and would not be shocked if he catches Ricky with a shot to end it early.

Font by TKO.

Cody Stamann (18-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC), Song Yadong (15-4 MMA, 4-0 UFC)

(Bantamweight, 135) (Yadong -190, Stamann +155)

HUUUGE fight in the 135 division. This will be a major test for the TAM star as he takes on a very tough Stamann whose only loss comes to Aljo Sterling. I'm usually very weary of the hyped knockout artist when they take on tough guys that like to make the fight sloppy. But I'm really big on Yadong and with a name like that you kind of have to. I like the talent, the dynamite in his hands, and I love the balance in his fights.

Yadong by TKO.

Yana Kunitskaya (12-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC), Aspen Ladd (8-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC)

(Bantamweight, 135) (Ladd -160, Kunitskaya +130)

Interesting fight at 135. This could possibly be a title eliminator considering how absolutely bare the 135 women's division is, that is, if Aspen Ladd doesn't die from the weight cut. I see this being a pretty close fight which should mainly take place on the feet. I favor Aspen's power a bit more.

Ladd by Decision

Ben Rothwell (36-12 MMA, 6-6 UFC), Stefan Struve (29-11 MMA, 13-9 UFC) (Heavyweight, 206.5+) (Rothwell -145, Struve +115)

What a weird fight this will be. You have the super unorthodox Ben Rothwell who seems to be a serial killer in his spare time against the 7 foot tall skyscraper Stefan Struve. This figures to be a very awkward fight between two Heavyweight veterans with a lot on the line. Rothwell on a 3-fight skid and I see him getting the much needed win in this one. For whatever reason Struve seems to forget how tall he is and does not use his jab very well at all. As a result he fights with his back off the fence for most of the fight. This plays right into Rothwell's hands, he loves to pressure and use aggressive strikes to really make you uncomfortably and land that big right hand. Dan Hardy has an awesome breakdown of Rothwell's striking and crazy chicken head movement. Plus I just want to see another awkward post-fight interview.

Rothwell by TKO.

Cynthia Calvillo (8-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC), Marina Rodriguez (12-0-1 MMA, 2-0-1 UFC)

(Strawweight, 125) (Rodriguez -135, Calvillo +110)

Another very interesting match-up on the Women's side. Cynthia Cavillo, a notable UFC prospect and former TAM member looks to inch closer to a title shot against another up and comer in Marina Rodriguez. Rodriguez completely wiped the floor with Tecia Torres her last time out and looks like a real problem. She is very solid everywhere and has very strong striking which could definitely give Cynthia some problems. However, I don't we've seen just how good Cynthia could be yet and if you have a wrestler/striker match-up I always go with the wrestler unless they are Ben Askren and throw punches like an Ivy League frat boy. As much as I want to root against her douchebag coach Justin Buchholz I like Calvillo and her experience/gritty wrestling as the slight underdog (extra $$$).

Calvillo by decision.

Alistair Overeem (45-17 MMA, 10-6 UFC), Jairzinho Rozenstruik (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) (Heavyweight, 206.5+) (Overeem -125, Rozenstruik -105)

5 Rounds in the UFC Heavyweight Division!!! What a terrifying Main Event. Two guys the size of Shaq with the kickboxing skills of Wonderboy Thompson.

Let's take a look at Rozenstruik. I mean this guy takes longer to walk out to the octagon than it does for him to put them in a coma.

This guy will be a problem in the Heavyweight division, maybe even the next Ngannou?

Yeah, pretty much how I see the fight playing out. Ubereem has a nasty clinch and has been a force in the Heavyweight division for a very long time. If he can close the distant and get Roz there this could be his night. The problem? He can be chinny at times. Anyone with the type of power, speed, and fluidity that Rozenstruik does any opening can end your night early. Hopefully we can see a few rounds of this one but I wouldnt count on it.

Rozenstruik by KO.
