Rolling into this edition of Stitty Wap bets feeling like Tony Ferguson (pre-Justin Gaethje). After a 8-1 day last week that pushes the total up to 48-14 since UFC 249. Now this week will be much tougher as most of the fights are very competitive (no Michael Venom Page card this week), but I don’t care. This is champ shit only and were keep the bus rolling right into UFC Vegas 4. Enjoy the blog and #RideWithStittyWap.

MAIN CARD (Overview/Prediction)

#3: Curtis “Razor” Blaydes, (13-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC), (Favorite)

#7: Alexander "Drago" Volkov, (31-7 MMA, 5-1 UFC), (Underdog)

Interesting match-up for the Main Event of UFC Vegas 3. Two fighters on absolute fire look to make their case as the #2 contender in the division behind the terrifying monster that is Francis Ngannou (Stipe/DC trilogy in August for the HW title). Both guys have really separated themselves from the pack and more than likely would be looking at a title shot early 2021. In another wrestler vs striker clash the fight will come down to who can oppose their will.

For Blaydes, it's pretty obvious what he wants to do, he holds the UFC Heavyweight record for takedowns (40) and is just 8 minutes shy of the top control record. The guy has been nothing short of an absolute terror in the division and is starting to develop into a real threat on the feet as well, he KO'd one of the division's elite boxers Junior dos Santos in his last fight due to his fear of the takedown. This seems to be a real favorable match-up, a volume kickboxer he should have a hefty size advantage over.

For Volkov, the game plan is simple, stay on the outside, land with volume, and make Curtis shoot from distance. In Blaydes last loss to Ngannou, he had a major issue closing the distance and as a result put himself right in harms way with shots from way too far out. If Volkov is able to pepper Blaydes with his superior striking diversity and circle away he can catch him with a big punch to close the fight early. Distance and timing are key if he looks to get his hand raised.

BET/PREDICTION (Blaydes by TKO) Blaydes has the most unfortunate situation outside of the guy he currently sits behind at Heavyweight. He has basically taken out everyone in his way but because of his 2 KO losses to Ngannou he has to either fight guys like Volkov or sit out. He showed some big improvements in his last fight against JDS feinting the shot and landing with heavy punches when Junior dropped his hands to defend the takedown. I love the sytlistic match-up, I love Curtis's size advantage, and I believe the small cage gives Volkov a lot less room to maneuver.

STITTY WAP UPSET OF THE NIGHT

Belal Muhammad (-144) vs Lyman Good (+118) (Welterweight, 170)

Another really awesome fight on sneaky loaded card. Belal "Remember the Name" has done everything in his power to make people do that, but thus far is still not catching on with the mainstream fans. Lyman Good is 3-2 thus far in the UFC, winning all 3 fights via TKO/KO. Needless to say, Belal will be looking to avoid the big power and most likely wear the much larger Good down with clinches and wrestling. Muhammad is a decision machine which is why I like Good in the upset here. Lyman will come out looking for the big shots early and often without really having to fear taking anything powerful in return. Belal is very durable but I think Good eventually finds the chin late.

PREDICTION/BET (Good by TKO)

STITTY WAP FIGHT OF THE NIGHT

#8 Josh Emmett (15-2, 6-2) vs #10 Shane Burgos (13-1, 6-1) (Featherweight,145)

Holy shit what a fight this will be. Both guys can be considered darkhorses in the featherweight division, and both bring it every single time out. Emmett compliments his brutal KO power with a strong wrestling background. Burgos on the other hand is much more of crisp striker, he likes to push the pace, break his opponent's mentally and physically and finish them late. The exchanges will have you on the edge early on but ultimately will come down to how long it lasts.

BET/PREDICTION (Burgos by Decision)

I like Burgos to edge out Emmett in this fight. Outside of his Fight of the Night performance against rising contender Calvin Kattar, Burgos has been pretty dominant thus far in his career. The problem with having such great KO power as Emmett has is the fighter's tendency to fall in love with it. Emmett has a tendency to get wild with his hooks and I see him getting pieced up early and Burgos being able to push the pace for 3 rounds en route to decsion win. Burgos -136.

STITTY WAP NOTABLE FIGHT(S)

Clay Guida (+196) vs Bobby Green (-245) (Lightweight, 155)

Roosevelt Roberts (-240) vs Jim Miller (+192) (Lightweight, 155)
